We delivered biofilter maintenance that improved both water treatment performance and site presentation. Through our bush regeneration and wetlands services we enhanced the system functionality while strengthening ecological resilience across both sites.

Project Outcomes:

Peter’s team successfully maintained two biofilter sites in Blacktown City Council as part of this project. The main aim was to improve the water treatment performance and aesthetic appeal of the biofilters through comprehensive maintenance activities.

We removed Typha orientalis from both sites, improving water flow and infiltration. To keep the area clean and reduce future weed sources, all green waste generated during maintenance was promptly removed and disposed of responsibly.

The project also included thorough maintenance of the biofilter, batter, and surrounding area, ensuring the functionality and stability of these water treatment systems. Furthermore, over 200 native plants were installed to enhance the health and resiliency of the biofilters and improve their ability to filter water and provide habitat benefits.

Project Outcomes:

The Council requested additional work for the original Parramatta River Riparian Corridor and Domain Creek Aquatic Weed Control Project. The extra task was undertaken using two spot sprayers and was successfully completed within three days.

The work zone extended approximately 324 metres along the Parramatta River, from Parramatta Weir to Bridge Road. The main issue in this area was the infestation of exotic vines and woody weed species along the riverbank. Cut and Paint, Skirting and spot spraying treatment were carried out by Peter’s team.
